Dear Family and Friends of Countryside,

By now you're aware of the current situation with COVID-19 (also known as the coronavirus) in what was referred to by The Sunday Times yesterday morning as "A New Normal." The President has designated a National Emergency, Gov. Wolf has mandated all K-12 schools closed for the next two weeks, necessarily causing disruptions in peoples' lives, all with the goal of slowing down the spread of this current outbreak through 'social distancing.'  Bishop Park made recommendations for our worship services more than a week ago, guidelines that we have implemented, but COVID-19 is still getting much attention in the news media.

In light of the new information arriving daily regarding this virus, and in consideration of the fact that the majority of our worshipers are in the high risk demographic, our Church Council has decided to cancel all worship services for the rest of the month of March. This includes Sunday morning worship and Wednesday evening Lenten services. At the end of the month we will re-evaluate the situation and make a decision on how to move forward.

In lieu of gathering for worship, our website/social media coordinator will work with Pastor Mark to make sermon and devotional video content available on Facebook ( and on our website (

Please keep in mind that our church expenses continue to build weekly, even when we can't meet together for multiple weeks. To explore ways to continue supporting Countryside financially during this time apart, please visit
