George Warren, 83, of Milwaukee, died Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Gino J. Merli Veterans G. His wife of 60 years is the former Maxine Reed.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen Knibbs Warren. He was raised in Old Forge and was a graduate of Old Forge High School. He was a member of Countryside Community Church. He was formerly a member of the Milwaukee United Methodist Church where he had been a lay leader. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a service tech for the Commonwealth Telephone Co. He was also a member of Acacia Lodge 579, F&AM and Abington Memorial VFW 7069.
Also surviving are a daughter, Pamela Jones-Malikowski and husband, Mark, Clarks Summit; and a son, Jeffrey Warren, Clarks Summit; a sister, Patricia Chickey, Old Forge; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at the Countryside Community Church, with services by the Rev. James Hollister, pastor. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. to the time of the service. Acacia Lodge 579, F&AM will have their service at noon.
Interment with military honors by Shopa-Davey Post 6082 will be at Milwaukee Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Countryside Community Church, 14011 Orchard Drive, Clarks Summit, PA 18411; or the donor's favorite charity.
