Reopening Update

Time is running out to complete the Countryside Reopening Survey! If you have not already responded, click here to read the letter and complete the survey by Friday, July 31.

On July 27, 2020, Countryside’s Reopening Task Force (Ron Imdorf, Jill Imdorf, Joyce LaRue, Sue Youtz, Cheryl Kovalik, Wendy Molitoris, Sal Sollami, Pastor Jim, Denise DePhillips, Ron Jackson) met for a third meeting on plans to reopen the church for in-person worship.

Because of the continuing safety concerns presented by COVID-19, discussion of in-person worship in the sanctuary is ongoing, but an actual reopening date is still on hold.  Meanwhile, the task force recommended and Church Council approved to begin holding outdoor services, beginning on Sunday, August 9, 2020.  Services will be held in the parking lot in front of the portico, begin at 9:30 a.m. and last about 30 minutes.

These are the guidelines for outdoor worship:
  • Restrooms will not be available.
  • Leave a car's width between vehicles when parking.
  • Back into spaces along the hill.
  • Everyone must stay in cars and practice social distancing.
  • Face coverings are optional if you remain in your car. If you must exit your vehicle for any reason, please wear a mask.
  • Participate in singing, readings and prayers from your car.
  • Exit one way around the back/lower church level.
  • A drop-off container for your offering will be available on your way out, or you can use online/mail in options.

We will continue to stream our regular 10 am service every Sunday for anyone who prefers to worship from home.

Equal Exchange

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, Equal Exchange sales are down 38,000 lbs worldwide.  In order to support individual farmers, we have set up a table in the lobby of the church.  (Outside café/sanctuary)

Feel free to stop by the church 9am-2pm Monday-Friday to pick up tea, coffee, chocolate, nuts, cocoa, olive oil, and other fairly traded items. Check or cash can be given to Jeff.

Vacation Bible School

If you didn't get to enjoy virtual VBS with us last week, you can still enjoy all the fun with your family. Register on the church web page (www.countryside-church.org) or call the office (570-587-3206) and we will send you everything you need to have VBS in your own home. Don't miss the fun!

TREX Recycling

We have resumed our TREX recycling program. Soft plastic can be dropped off at the church or at 210 Venard Rd., Clarks Green (back porch). We are more than ½ way to our next bench!
